BAE Systems
Sean has an extensive background in Manufacturing Engineering and is now the ES Manager of Sustainability/Energy Management. Always interested in cost reduction and conservation, Sean has streamlined numerous processes and contributed many energy conserving and other “green” ideas at BAE Systems. Most recently, Sean and his team drove the Electronic Solutions Line of Business wide Sustainability Initiative and is a contributing member to the BAE Systems PLC Global Sustainability Program. Through these efforts, utility costs have decreased as much as 48%, drastically reducing carbon footprint by 6700 at one site alone, and significantly contributing to the Triple Bottom Line: Economic, Environment, Social. One of the most significant aspects of BAE Systems’ Sustainability Initiative is engaging all personnel from the top floor to the shop floor in actively contributing to all conservation efforts. Efforts have proven so successful that BAE Systems – Greenlawn, NY was awarded the Seal of Sustainability by the Sustainable Business Institute at the United States Capitol on April 19, 2010. Sean has presented at global events such as IFMA, USGBC, the National Environmental Summit for P2, BOMA, the JRGBC and continues to present and promote Sustainability at a variety of other venues. Sean has recently received BAE Systems global recognition through their highest internal honor program, Chairman’s Award.
