Susan Hayes is the Executive Director of Government and External Affairs for Verizon on Long Island; positioning the business for maximum political effectiveness with all levels of government, corporate philanthropy, public policy and community outreach.  Most recently worked on the launch of the new FIOS1 TV channel.  Prior to this assignment, she was responsible for all New York City government relations and interfacing with various government offices, agencies and officials on the state and local level related to activities and policies. Ms. Hayes was involved and instrumental in the initial plans and the continued rollout of Verizon’s FIOS TV service by securing Video Franchises across New York.; accomplished by political analysis, working with key officials & stakeholders and involving community leaders.  Ms. Hayes has over 20 years of experience with Verizon, her breadth of expertise encompasses, Human Resources, Business Sales and Customer Service. 

Ms. Hayes is active in a number of community organizations.  She currently serves on the board of directors for the Huntington Chamber of Commerce.  She has volunteered for years with the Long Island Junior Soccer League. Several years ago, she served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Suffolk County Chapter of the American Red Cross.  Ms. Hayes has a unique talent of working with people from various cultural and educational backgrounds.

Ms. Hayes has a Masters of Business Administration degree from Adelphi University, and has completed executive education programs at both Columbia and Harvard Universities. 

Ms. Hayes lives in East Northport, New York with her husband, and their two sons.
