Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Joins Over 500 People Attend Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Leviton World Headquarters

103 Year Old Global Company Keeps Corporate Headquarters in NY and Celebrates with One of the Largest Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Over 500 people attended one of the largest ribbon cutting ceremonies Long Island has ever seen.  Leviton Manufacturing Company held its official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new World Headquarters.   The grand opening is a significant event for Leviton who chose to stay in New York and relocate from Little Neck to the Melville corridor.  The headquarters serves as home to the company’s global operations across four continents.   “The opening of our new headquarters will support our commitment to deliver the highest level of customer service, to streamline operations and to focus on major market segments throughout the world with the latest technology and systems as we continue to position Leviton as one of the world’s leading corporations,” explained Donald J. Hendler, Leviton’s President and CEO. 

Attendees enjoyed live music from Steinway Piano Gallery, refreshments and a facility walk-through of the 4-story,high-performance “Green” building.  Keynote speakers included Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone and Leviton President and CEO Donald J. Hendler.  A highlight of the program was a heartwarming presentation by Shirley Leviton prior to the ribbon cutting. 

The state-of-the-art office complex serves as a model high-performance building equipped with the latest “green building” materials and systems including Leviton’s own products.   “At Leviton, we feel a great responsibility to ensure that we take care of this world, and to preserve it for the future of our children and for future generations. We designed our corporate headquarters with the latest “green building” technology to reflect our culture and corporate identity as a pacesetter in green building design.  The building provides an operating environment which is ecofriendly, environmentally responsible and which supports our commitment to the community and to sustainability goals,” explained Mark Fogel, Leviton’s Vice President of HR and Administration. The privately-held family business is a rarity in American business, having experienced remarkable continuity in leadership over the years. Donald J. Hendler is the company's third president in its over 100-year history.
