The 14th annual Long Island Fall Festival in Huntington was a spectacular event with a world class carnival that contained exhilarating rides for all ages, hundreds of arts and craft vendors, four Stages of continuous live entertainment, a Saturday night FREE concert with Deborah Gibson, autographs from Marty Lyons (formerly of the Jets), Sunday afternoon Louisiana Music Concert by River City Slim & The Zydeco Hogs, the Sons of Italy Columbus Day Parade, a Youth Community Talent Stage, a “Read-A-Thon” sponsored by the Town of Huntington and the Sheryl Steinberg-Collins Foundation, and the Second Annual Meatball Eating Contest. There was definitely something for everyone during our Fall Festival weekend.
What a phenomenal way to spend a beautiful weekend in the Town of Huntington. The positive experience all of us at the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce had working with the Huntington community, Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone, the Huntington Town Board, employees of the Town of Huntington as well as the Huntington First Aid Squad was overwhelming.
We are definitely lucky to be living and doing business within the Town of Huntington. We strongly feel that the employees from the Town of Huntington are one of the finest group of individuals that we have ever worked with. They work together as a team towards a common vision and goal. Every town employee and leader understands the meaning of public service and that public service is more that just nine to five.
Working with the office of General Services, Joe Rech, Paul Smith, and Gary Mounce and the entire team is an incredible experience. They arrived at the park early before anyone had arrived and left the park late after everyone else was gone.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is another impressive department. They made sure that the event ran smooth and safe, and always went the extra mile to guide us and ensure that we met all safety requirements required.
From the Office of Public Safety who is committed to making sure the behind the scenes details of the event are coordinated, to the Office of the Town Clerk, to the Parks and Recreation Department who issue the permits, each of department understands that Government is more than public service, it is giving unselfishly to improve the quality of life in and around Huntington.
Most importantly, this event would not be possible if not for our valued sponsors. Their support and commitment to this event year after year are what give us the ability to present this spectacular weekend of festivities to the entire Long Island Community.
Again, thank you to everyone from Huntington from all of us at the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce for helping us to coordinate a wonderful community event.
