On January 30th, 2007 the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce hosted an event beneficial to all entrepreneurs and small business owners called “Access to Capital: Funding Sources for the Entrepreneur.” The event was held at the Melville Marriott.

The panel of experts included: Kevin McCourt, Citibank; Trevor Davis, Community Development Corporation; Christopher Erckert, EVO Networks; Roz Goldmacher, Long Island Development Corporation; Barry Greenspan, Empire State Development Corporation; Tom Seery, Chase; Lucille Wesnofske, Small Business Development and Norman Hunte from the Small Business Administration who served as the moderator.

Entrepreneurs were provided an opportunity to learn about various options for financing a business. Topics covered included information about how to get started and how to finance your new business, how to apply for a loan from a financial institute or venture capital firm and how to request government grants. Participants also had a chance to speak with each panel member individually to address their individual questions.
