Appoints Three Additional Directors
Tom Kehoe, Mark Fogel and Genevieve Sloup Join the Chamber’s Board of Directors

The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of three new directors to serve on the organization’s Board. Tom Kehoe, Mark Fogel and Genevieve Sloup have joined the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to support and serve the local Huntington community.
The mission of the Board of Directors is for each member to use his/her dedication and passion for the Huntington community and his/her diverse strengths to create opportunities and promote growth and prosperity for business as well as the local community. The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce serves as a business catalyst for making the Huntington community a natural choice in which to work, shop, play and live. Chamber board members are individuals who volunteer to offer their expertise, knowledge and time to fulfill this vision.
As the Senior Human Resource Officer of Leviton Manufacturing, Inc., Mark Fogel has global oversight of corporate and regional facilities, supporting a population of over 6,500 employees in North America, Central and South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, he oversees Public Relations, Safety, and Facilities, and was the company’s internal project manager for its global corporate relocation to Melville in 2009. Among his many honors, Mark Fogel was named National Human Capital Business Leader of the Year (2007) by The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and received the SHRM’s economic stimulus prize in February 2009 for innovative “best practices” in retaining employees through training and development. He was most recently honored by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s 50 most influential business leaders (50 around 50).
Thomas J. Kehoe is President of Seaflight Logistics,Inc, a freight forwarder specializing in time-sensitive and perishable shipments, both domestically and nationally. He is also a partner in K & B Seafood, Inc., one of the East Coast’s largest importer, exporter, and distributor of oysters and shellfish. Kehoe is a 30+ year resident of Northport and Huntington and is serving his second four-year term as an elected Trustee in the Village of Northport where he also serves as Commissioner of Police, Sanitation and Commerce. Kehoe is a major force within the Huntington community and an integral creator for Long Island’s “Buy Local” campaign which garnered a Fair Media Council “Folio Award” and a Vision Long Island “Smart Growth Award.” In addition to Kehoe’s involvement in the Huntington community he also is on the Executive Committee of the Theodore Roosevelt Association; President of the East Coast Shellfish Growers Association (www.ecsga.org) and recently formed Huntington Harbor Water Quality Committee. He holds two third degree black belts in (San Dan Rank) Chowa Ryu an Okinawan Karate and in Aki Bokken Jutsu, a Japanese sword art.
Genevieve Sloup is Owner/Event Planner of RSVP Events which specializes in promotion and special event planning. Her background includes Project Manager for New Launches at Estee Lauder. She recently began her event planning business concentrating in the Huntington area. She is a member of the 2010 class of Leadership Huntington, Co-Chair of the Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce 21+ Group, Huntington Station Unity in the Community Committee and a recipient of the Celebrate Long Island’s Young Professionals Award honouring 30 young people under the age of 30 .
