Craig Munn, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Eastern District congratulates Jack Safarik, Huntington Elks Lodge New Exalted Ruler.
Jack Safarik, who served as Elks Lodge No. 1565’s Leading Knight for the past year, was installed as the Huntington lodge’s Exalter Ruler for 2011-12 at a recent ceremony.
“I look forward to serving this lodge as its Exalted Ruler for the next year,” Safarik said. “I would like to thank Bob [Gaun] for his service as Exalted Ruler and look forward to following in his footsteps. I hope to see our lodge continue to grow and move in a positive direction over the next 12 months.”
Along with Safarik’s installation as Exalter Ruler, Gaun was inducted as Leading Knight and Tom Litwin was inducted as Loyal Knight while Peter Demidovich became the lodge’s new Lecturing Knight. Doug Bassin took over the position of the Treasurer and Bill Martin was duly elected as Secretary. Judy Warden, Bob Vandenburgh and Wayne Cammer will remain in their same positions as Esquire, Chaplain and Inner Guard, respectively.
“Has one year really passed or was it just a dream?” Gaun said. “We approach spring and the blossoming of the seeds of regeneration. We see light growing stronger and temperatures become friendlier by the day. It is also time for this Exalted Ruler to pass the gavel to the new Exalted Ruler. Congratulations to Jack Safarik as the new Exalted Ruler.”
The presentation of the Officer of the Year and Elk of the Year also took place at the ceremony.
